Re: Champions Day at Youth Empowerment & Support Services

December 1, 2014 - This Tuesday, December 2, is Champions Day – Youth Empowerment & Support Services annual awareness day.  Champions Day will kick off at 11:00am at Edmonton City Hall with greetings and mayor’s proclamation from City Councillor, Bev Esslinger.  YESS Champions are invited to come and find out how YESS is bringing hope to homeless youth and how every Edmontonians can play a role in helping out.

The Champion’s Circle kick-off is a drop-in event that will run from 11:00am to 1:00pm and will include food, beverages, contests, videos, photo booths with a professional photographer, information booth, donation table and more fun activities.

YESS is calling on all Edmontonians to be YESS Champions and use their social media accounts and the hashtag #YESSChampion to spread the word about who we are and how we are helping Edmonton’s homeless youth rebuild their lives.

Our youth need CHAMPIONS. They need people to support them and encourage them; people that will say hi to them on the street. They need people to respect them and understand that they are where they are not by their own choosing but because of the situations and circumstances beyond their control.
We ask for you to talk about YESS to your family, friends, and coworkers and help us increase awareness in Edmonton and surrounding area about what we do and who we serve.

Please support YESS and Edmonton’s most vulnerable young people by being a YESS Champion on December 2, 2014. For more information visit www.yess.org/champions-day
