River Valley Revenge

River Valley Revenge starts and ends in Goldbar Park, Edmonton, AB and will challenge you with the best that the Edmonton river valley has to offer. Amazing single track, calf burning uphills and heart stopping downhills will make this a run to remember.

Edmonton’s own Ultra Marathon, the River Valley Revenge will boast an exciting new 25 kilometer loop of the cities best river trails. You will be experiencing a variety of single track, nordic, and river trail with enough elevation change to challenge even the most experienced trail runners.

The course will include 5 of Edmonton’s finest river valley parks and will likely take you into some surprising new trail sections. Don’t worry, we will have things well marked to keep you on course; plus there will be water stops and 2 fully stocked aid stations to cheer you on and keep your energy at peak levels.

Starting at Goldbar Park, the course will head East across the flats before making it's way up the demanding Esso Hill, just enough distance to let the field spread out and allow everyone time to settle into their pace. Once into the heart of Goldstick you will enjoy a variety of gently rolling nordic terrain. A quick detour through Woodcutters and you will be on your way through to the Capilano river trail before circling back to pick up the infamous "Old Truck Trail." This section has some of the most technical trail sections in our city - and on the RVR course. Sunridge is next and will be sure to challenge each runner physically and mentally...just when you think you have had enough, you will be slapped with the grueling zipper section of climbs and descents across the west facing slopes. Crossing the bridge to Rundle side you will enjoy one of the fastest sections of the course for the next several kilometers, those that have some gas in the tank can take advantage and stretch out the pace before crossing the Goldbar foot bridge and arriving back into the start-finish arena.

One thing is certain, this is one tough track.
