YESS has been closed to public in-kind donations since March 2020 to protect the health and safety of our youth, our staff, and our community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We ask that general public in-kind donations be directed to the Bissell Thrift Shop (8818 118 Avenue) and identify that the donation is for YESS. The Bissell Centre will provide YESS with these essential items, and surplus items will benefit the Bissell Centre clientele too.
While we cannot accept unsolicited in-kind donations at our location, YESS will continue to work with our generous donors and community for dedicated campaigns that will support youth and also provide comfort during the holiday season.
Your donation will always support people experiencing homelessness in our community.
If you have any questions or need more information, please contact Development Officer Marissa Halvorson at 780.468.7070 ext. 249 or email email@example.com
Donating laptops, PCs, and TVs
Access to proper technology helps our youth on their educational, employment, and personal goals.
Here are some guidelines to help make sure any technology donations suit our youth and their needs.
We can accept
- New laptops/PCs/TVs (receipt required to verify)
- Used laptops/PCs/TVs that are less than a year old (receipt required to verify)
- Please call ahead before donating TVs
Used laptops/PCs/TVs that are over a year old and/or no longer functional come at a cost for us to dispose of responsibly. Thank you for helping us avoid these costs.
Tax receipts can be issued upon request for new items valued at more than $20 with a proof-of-purchase receipt.
Please call us before donating any of these items:
- Sugary snacks (candy, pop, donuts, etc.)
- Exercise equipment and weight benches
- Large appliances
- Ping pong tables
- Pool tables
Any donations that we are not able to use in a timely manner or that are surplus to our needs may be shared with other non-profit organizations in need or used in our fundraising efforts.
